Launch of the 2019 BAD national clinical audit (skin surgery)
This is a baseline audit of process based on measures of quality in a dermatology skin surgery service. These cover difficult areas for data collection such as wound complications, infections and patient feedback. To ensure that subsequent audits are informed by the expertise of the membership, the preliminary steps are to establish what members have and are doing at present. Where members are already undertaking regular audits on these areas and have sound mechanisms for obtaining feedback, we would like to learn from them to create a national model for future use.
This audit was developed in collaboration with the British Society Dermatological Surgery, is based on provisional audit standards, and open to all BAD members in the U.K. and those in their clinical team. Please find further information in the attached template for clinical audit planning, including the provisional audit standards.
Please spend no more than 5 minutes in answering the audit questions by clicking the Survey Monkey link below, and forward any relevant documentation (written policy, audit reports, patient questionnaire) separately, to firstname.lastname@example.org to complete your submission.
Please complete your details in the ‘About you’ section at the end of the survey to validate your submission, so we can subsequently email your certificate of participation upon completion of the data collection, as well as a copy of the results which can be used as evidence to support revalidation.
Please respond to the audit as an individual clinician, even when working in a department with many members who may respond similarly. Your Trust name will help determine department groupings.
A template for local clinical audit project planning is provided.
The audit data collection will close on Monday 22nd April 2019.
Please forward any queries to BAD Clinical Standards Administrator, Ms Alhan Abdi Salad (email@example.com).
This audit opportunity was provided by the BAD through its Clinical Standards Unit and Health Informatics sub-committee, to enable members to undertake a national clinical audit.
