Medical Student Representative

The BAD supports the formation of DermSocs throughout the UK and is seeking junior members to take a lead in their development. A position is open to those interested in taking up this exciting opportunity:

  • 1 x Medical student Representative

The successful candidate will be required to serve the committee for a two-year term renewable for a further year and your role will include:

  • Co-ordination and propagation of all University DermSocs in the UK, liaising with and reporting to the Academic Vice President of the BAD via the BAD DermSchool Sub-Committee
  • Leading and organising central DermSoc meetings, attended by representatives of university DermSocs nationally, 2-3 times per year. You will also be required to undertake the administration of DermSoc

In addition, you will be invited to assist in the organisation of the BAD Annual DermSchool event as a member of the BAD DermSchool Sub-Committee and attend meetings held in London usually once per academic year.

To apply, please send a manifesto of 150 words and short CV (maximum 2 sides of A4) to Siu Tsang: siu@bad.org.uk by 17:00 on Friday 3 April 2020.

The manifesto should outline why you would like the position, highlighting the skills you have to support your application. Please include examples of leadership, teamwork and commitment to Dermatology. Indicate in the Subject Title ‘Medical Student Representative 2020’ and at the top of the manifesto include your name, BAD Membership ID / submission date of your membership application, grade and year.

Applicants must apply for BAD membership. If selected for the role, this will be offered on a conditional basis subject to successful membership approval.

The new Representative will be expected to attend the next DermSchool Sub-Committee meeting on Thursday 17 September 2020 at 10:00-11:30.
