CED welcomes consultant dermatologists, trainees, scientists or any grade interested (with no prior experience of journal peer review) who would like to review for us.

We are offering a hands-on practical course to help you understand the concepts of peer review, why you should peer review and importantly work in small groups with some of our more experienced co-editors of CED using examples from the journal. We hope that this will be a useful course for you.

The objective of this course is to give:

- an insight into peer review process within academic journals,

- gain an understanding of peer review models and systems

- practical experience of reviewing

We are delighted to announce this 1-day live webinar, which covers key aspects of psychodermatology, including the assessment and management of body dysmorphic disorder, delusional infestation, and how to prescribe antipsychotic medications safely.
The course is led by leading experts in psychodermatology, in collaboration with Psychodermatology UK.

Faculty include Consultant Dermatologists: Dr Susannah Baron, Dr Alia Ahmed, Dr Janet Angus and Dr Tony Bewley; Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Ruth Taylor; and Clinical Psychologist Dr Rukshana Ali.

We invite submissions of research/case report abstracts and questions for the “Ask the Experts” panel session.

Welcome message to the Thriving Guide for Registrars from Dr Piu Banerjee. I created this course to support personal development and wellbeing for registrars in dermatology. Thank you to Dr Nuala O'Donoghue and Prof Anthony Bewley who have helped to put this programme together. There are sessions on how to build resilience and recognise burn out as well as practical taster sessions on mindfulness and basic yoga. There are sessions on recognising bullying, micro aggressions, unconscious bias and building ally ship together. I hope that this will enrich your training and support you in your careers.

This three-day course is designed for physicians, dermatologists in training and Consultants who wish to enhance their basic knowledge of skin pathology in a structured format.
Participants will receive a stepwise comprehensive exposure to the basic principles of dermatopathology. Special emphasis will be given to clinical-pathological correlation and to understanding the value of integrating dermatopathology in clinical practice.

The  BSID Annual Meeting returns to its in-person format in 2022 & is scheduled to be held in the  Frederick Douglass Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne over 4th - 6th April 2022.

This will be an exciting 2.5 day meeting showcasing young and talented researchers and championing equity in science. Keynote speakers from the US and Europe have been invited, and will contribute to a stimulating programme.

To compliment the Scientific programme, an excellent social programme has also been planned including an informal first night of entertainment within a private floor of a purpose-built bowling & entertainment centre, plus an Annual Dinner on the second night which will be held on the top floor of a riverside art gallery.

Abstract Submissions are curranty being accepted for consideration for the meeting, so please do submit your new research data. The BSID is a friendly meeting that is ideal for the student, clinical fellow or post-doc research presentation at a national level.

A limited number of travel bursaries are also available to enable young undergraduate and postgraduate scientists, who are engaged in dermatological research in the UK, to attend the meeting. Applications are also open for consideration for the 2022 Early Career Awards for Clinician & Basic Scientists.
