UK TREND

UK TREND

UK TREND

Who we are

UK TREND was established by the British Association of Dermatologists in 2013. It supports the development of multicentre studies in the UK and Ireland focused on translational research in skin biology and dermatology.

It is keen to promote new collaborations between dermatologists, including trainee dermatologists, and scientists, offering advice and support for early-stage research proposals, as well as links between members for established research consortia.

What we do

The A-STAR Registry and the UK Keratinocyte Cancer Collaborative (UKKCC) are just two of the successful outcomes of UK TREND.

The current focus of UK TREND is:

 • Skin biology and skin health
 • Linking with the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network (UKDCTN) to facilitate mechanistic or biomarker investigations for clinical trials
 • Enhancing trainees’ involvement within research through “bitesize” multicentre translational research projects

UK TREND also organises a session at the BAD Annual Meeting, find out more, here.

How to get involved?

UK TREND welcomes members from the healthcare profession, as well as patients and carers, with an interest in laboratory-based or clinical research into skin disease. Members have the opportunity to get involved with networking activities and research.

Dermatologists and trainee dermatologists who are interested in participating in collaborative research on this topic are encouraged to contact UK TREND using the form below and to attend the UK TREND session at the BAD conference.
