Sun safety

Over the summer, one of our key focuses was to help educate people about sun safety. This will continue in 2008, starting with Sun Awareness Week, the British Association of Dermatologists' annual awareness drive, from May 5th to 11th.

Many people have contacted us to say that they struggle to find independent, comprehensive information in one place, about sunscreens, sun safety, mole checking, advice for dark skin types and many other topics that can be confusing.

Therefore the British Association of Dermatologists has teamed up with the British Skin Foundation to provide a one-stop shop for all your sun safety questions.

To help take these sun safety messages to a wider audience, the BAD have taken part in interviews in a vast range of media. We are extremely grateful to the many journalists who have contacted the BAD for expert, accurate sun safety information, helping us to dispel the confusion on this subject.

For more information about Sun Awareness, please email the Communications team at nina@bad.org.uk or call 0207 391 6355.
