The UK Latex Allergy Support Group (LASG) is a voluntary charitable
group which works with many different organizations to promote safe use
of latex where possible, and assist individuals who have become latexallergic
to adapt to this
LASG and the National Association of Theatre Nurses organised two
Summit Meetings at TUC Headquarters in 2002 that brought together a
wide range of interested parties to discuss relevant issues relating to NRL
The American Latex Allergy Association has a web-site to help connect
with educational materials, support groups, publications and product
information to assist with understanding of natural rubber latex allergy
The National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) is a Special Health Authority
which co-ordinates the efforts of the entire country to report, and more
importantly to learn from mistakes and problems that affect patient safety.
NPSA issued an information notice on latex allergy in 2005
The UK Health and Safety Executive have a web-site on latex allergy
which applies particularly if you are an employer / work in healthcare
occupations or are a patient. It explains about latex allergy and how you
can protect yourself and others against it
The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
has a voluntary reporting system for reporting adverse incidents involving
medical devices
