ALERT: A British Photodermatology Group consensus statement on UV protective films.
The BPG meets each year at the Annual British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) Conference in July. The meeting consists of an Annual General Meeting followed by a symposium on a specific theme of photodermatology with invited guest speakers followed by short papers. A prize is awarded to the best presenter.
The BPG meets at the British Society for Investigative Dermatology (BSID) annual meeting held in the spring of each year. The meeting format comprises invited speakers and short papers.
The British Photodermatology Group (BPG) is a special interest society of the British Association of Dermatologists, and acts as a forum of communication for all those with an interest in photodermatology.
Membership includes clinical dermatologists, medical physicists, photochemists, photobiologists, and members of the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The BPG encourages dialogue and collaboration between these groups.
The BPG facilitates dissemination of results of clinical and basic science research in photodermatology at the annual British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) and British Society of Investigative Dermatologists (BSID) Meetings. These meetings consist of talks by invited speakers of international stature in the field of photodermatology, followed by short communications.
The BPG also organises workshops to explore particular aspects of photodermatology in detail. Information gathered at such workshops is disseminated in the form of reports published in appropriate journals.
The BPG is represented by a committee including a Chairman and Honorary Secretary/Treasurer who each hold office for a period of 2 years. There are 4 other committee members. The committee consists of a minimum of 2 clinicians and 2 non-clinicians.
