Meetings

The BDNG Executive Committee meets quarterly and the AGM is held in June.

Function

Dermatological nursing is a highly specialised area of practice with nurses providing care and treatment for a growing number of patients with dermatological conditions. The BDNG functions as a professional organisation for nurses working in dermatology providing educational and networking opportunities. The BDNG has a close working relationship with the BAD.

Aims

The aims of the BDNG are to:

  • Promote the development of the highest standard of care for the patient receiving dermatological care
  • Promote the development and recognition of the nurse's role in dermatology, for the benefit of the patient
  • Promote and support education of nurses for their role in dermatology
  • Promote and support research into all aspects of dermatology nursing and dermatological nursing care
  • Provide a source of expertise for nurses facing clinical and managerial challenges in the field of dermatology nursing
  • Provide a forum for the dissemination of developments and knowledge in the field of dermatology nursing

The BDNG offers members:

  • A quarterly peer reviewed journal, Dermatological Nursing
  • A three day Annual Conference
  • Regional educational events throughout the year
  • Practice and professional development awards
  • Member’s only section of website
