Vacancies for BAD Members

Medical Student and Junior Doctor Representatives

The BAD supports the formation of DermSocs throughout the UK and is seeking BAD junior members (active membership at the time of submission) to take a lead in their development. Three positions are open to those interested in taking up these exciting opportunities:

  • 1 x Medical Student Representative (only 3rdyear medical students are eligible to apply)
  • 2 x Junior Doctor Representative (only 5thyear medical students and junior doctors who have not yet commenced core training are eligible to apply)

The successful candidates will be required to serve the committee for a two-year term renewable for a further year and your role will include:

  • Co-ordination and propagation of all University DermSocs in the UK, liaising with and reporting to the Academic Vice President of the BAD via the BAD DermSchool Sub-Committee
  • Leading and organising central DermSoc meetings, attended by representatives of university DermSocs nationally, 2-3 times per year. You will also be required to undertake the administration of DermSoc

In addition, you will be invited to assist in the organisation of the BAD Annual DermSchoolEvent as a member of the BAD DermSchoolSub-Committee and attend meetings held in London usually once per academic year.

To apply, please send a manifesto of 150 words and short CV (maximum 2 sides of A4) to Siu Tsang: by 17:00 on Monday 29 April 2019.

The manifesto should outline why you would like the position, highlighting the skills you have to support your application. Please include examples of leadership, teamwork and commitment to Dermatology. Indicate in the Subject Title which role you are applying for i.e. 'Medical Student Representative' or 'Junior Doctor Representative’ and within the manifesto include your name, BAD Membership Number, grade and year.

If selected, you will be expected to attend the next DermSchoolSub-Committee meeting on Thursday 19 September 2019 at 10:00-11:30.
