Clinical Guidelines

NICE has renewed accreditation of the process used by the British Association of Dermatologists to produce clinical guidelines. The accreditation recognises the stringent protocol that the BAD employs in producing clinical guidelines.

The renewed accreditation is valid until 31st May 2021 and applies to guidance produced using the processes described in 'Updated guidance for writing a British Association of Dermatologists clinical guideline - the adoption of the GRADE methodology 2016'.

The original accreditation term began on 12th May 2010 and retrospectively covered guidelines that were accepted for publication from September 2008.

The accreditation means that future BAD guidelines will not only need to follow the accredited process manual strictly, but also fulfill all of the 25 criteria set by NICE in order to maintain the BAD's status as an accredited guidance producer (please click here for the NICE guidelines checklist).

Further information on the BAD's accreditation decision can be found on the NICE accreditation portal.
