Function
The purpose of this group is to promote for the public benefit interest in and knowledge of dermatological surgery.
The society awards annual travel fellowships to enable dermatologists to study aspects of dermatological surgery. The awards are made in November each year.
We aim to -
- Promote and carry out or assist in promoting and carrying out research, surveys and investigations and publish the useful results thereof.
- Collect and disseminate information on all matters affecting the said objects and exchange such information with other bodies having similar objects whether in this country or overseas.
- Bring together in conference representatives of voluntary organisations, government departments, statutory authorities and individuals.
- Provide a focus for dermatological surgery post-graduate education by offering both basic and advanced workshops.
Membership
Full Membership of the BSDS is open to dermatologists, dermatologists in training and Associate Specialists in the United Kingdom. Other medical practitioners and nurses in the UK with an interest in dermatological surgery may be elected to associate membership provided their application receives the support of two BSDS members and is approved by the Executive Committee.
